In 1996 a small dedicated team sat down in our Lancashire workshop and modelled the dream – to create a range of made to measure composite doors that would protect families around the UK from becoming victims of burglaries, whilst also offering a thermally efficient and stylish entrance door.

Since 1996 all Rockdoors have been made to measure, not cut to fit. This ensures that we manufacturer our doors to fits the aperture perfectly. Composite external doors become weaker when they are cut to fit.
We started manufacturing Rockdoors using a range of machines that injected our doors with a high impact core that helps us give our doors the reputation for being the strongest composite door available. Whilst the machinery and plant may have been updated to incorporate the latest in technology, our principles remain the same – to manufacture the strongest composite door!
Since day one, we’ve always wanted to be one step ahead of testing within the door industry with our doors achieving accreditations such as Secured by Design (police backed initiative).
In fact, we were the very first door manufacturer to achieve Secured by Design including on our range of French Doors, just showing how ahead of our competitors we were back then and continue to be!

A typical composite door can be made up of a mixture of materials such as GRP, Timber and PU Foam to reduce the amount of warm air escaping and cold air entering a property. At Rockdoor, our composite doors are slightly different in that we don’t use timber through any of our ranges because of the reasons listed above (twisting and warping). Instead, we use materials such as Carbon Fibre to reinforce the core of the door resulting in a strong, thermally efficient door you can put your trust in.
